Group Assignment – Adults
Beginners
Adult beginners (never stood on skis before)
Course Content: an opportunity to get used to the ski equipment, walking, basic gliding, downhill and braking exercises, learning first turns using the “snowplough” technique, on our own practice area, at the practice lift and on easy pistes.
Slightly Experienced
Requirements: able to make a series of turns using snowplough technique, at the practice lift and on easy pistes
Course Content: repeat snowplough technique, vary speed, ski down blue-rated pistes, steer using snowplough technique (in other words, after every snowplough turn, skis return to a parallel position), easy red-rated pistes.
Experienced
Requirements: able to steer using snowplough technique on red pistes
Course Content: increase speed, different radiuses, ski down red-rated pistes, steering with parallel skis, long radiuses, use of poles, short radiuses.
Expert/Pro
Requirements: very good skills, steer with parallel skis, use poles on black-rated pistes
Course Content: carving on steeper pistes, carving through long and short radiuses
Group Assignment – Children
Bambini
Children ages 3 to 4, begin to feel comfortable in the snow, play in the snow, first steps
Beginners
Group 1
Child beginners ages 4-5 (never stood on skis before), first days of skiing, “schuss” skiing, basic braking technique
Slightly Experienced
Group 2
Requirements: able to make a series of turns using snowplough technique on easy blue-rated pistes (practice hills)
Course Content: snowplough turns on blue-rated pistes with different speeds and radiuses
Group 3
Requirements: snowplough turns on blue-rated pistes with different speeds and radiuses
Course Content: snowplough turns on easy red-rated pistes
Group 4
Requirements: snowplow turns on easy red-rated pistes
Course Content: steer using snowplough technique (in other words, after every snowplough turn, skis return to a parallel position)
Advanced
Group 5
Requirements: able to steer using snowplough technique, in other words, after every snowplough turn skis return to a parallel position
Course Content: first parallel turns (long radiuses) and holding poles
Group 6
Requirements: first parallel turns (long radiuses) and able to hold poles
Course Content: parallel turns with use of poles on different pistes
Group 7
Requirements: parallel turns with use of poles on different pistes
Course Content: parallel turns (short and long radiuses); first carving on easy pistes
Expert/Pro
Group 8-10
Requirements: parallel turns (short and long radiuses); carving on red-rated pistes
Course Content: carving (short and long radiuses) on steeper pistes, intro to freeriding and moguls pistes, race skiing, formation skiing and freestyle
